How to Help the Horses
The horses at H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue arrive here in several different ways. H.O.P.E. works with local authorities and organizations, including animal control and area humane societies. Some of our rescues are surrendered by their owners for various reasons. We have had up to 24 horses on the farm at one time. The average stay is 1.5 years as they are rehabilitated until the right new home is found for them.
On average the cost to care for one rescue is between $200 – $250 a month, barring no extreme medical issues, are present. Your contributions help us continue to aid our horses in need. Your generosity, no matter the size, will make a difference in the life of one of our beloved equine family members. All contributions are tax deductible and will go directly to the rehabilitation and care of these amazing creatures.
Cash arrived at H.O.P.E. at the very end of August 2018. He was frighteningly thin, as he is a 1 on the Henneke Body Scoring Condition scale. Cash desperately needed his teeth floated and received a full physical examination and vaccinations from our vet. He is a fighter, and even though he's in terrible condition, his spirits are high.
