NetPosse – Found –

NetPosse™ Missing Equine Alert for Charlie - Sunset (Montague County), TX: Charlie was in my Brother In Law's pasture with other horses and on November 3, 2016, when checking on the horses Charlie was nowhere to be found. Searches by 4-wheeler, on foot and horseback, have produced no sign of Charlie. Upon finding remains of a recently killed deer we realized someone had been in the pasture and contacted the Montague Sheriff's department. I decided to go check on my horses when I went to my brother-in-law's (that's where he was located). So I rode the four-wheeler down to the pasture and searched to find the horses. When I spotted them, I noticed he wasn't there. I figured he was just hiding in the trees. So I rounded them up with the four-wheeler and pushed them up to the top where the water tank is thinking he would come running out of the trees. There was no sign of him anywhere. So I went and told my brother-in-law and he said he was down there somewhere. So my fiancée and I went back down and searched another two or three times. There was still no sign. We decided to go home and continue the search the next day (Nov 4, 2016). The next day, we went back out and searched on foot, on the four-wheeler, and on horseback. Still couldn't find him anywhere. Then I noticed a fresh skinned deer with its head cut off by the double gates that lead into the pasture. That leads me to believe somebody had been down there. Waited for my brother-in-law to get back into town and I filed a police report with the sheriff's office. I am still on the lookout for my beloved Charlie.

11/25/16 - We received an update from Melissa that Charlie was found. Unfortunately, he was found deceased. Thank you all for your help and support in the search for Charlie!
